Sandisk Update and a REAL Solution

SanDisk has a page (https://support-en.wd.com/app/firmwareupdate) where you can input your serial number to see whether your drive might be affected by this problem. Broadly speaking, the issue relates to the following products: SanDisk Extreme Portable 4TB (SDSSDE61-4T00), SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable 4TB (SDSSDE81-4T00), SanDisk Extreme Pro 2TB (SDSSDE81-2T00), SanDisk Extreme Pro 1TB (SDSSDE81-1T00) and WD My Passport 4TB (WDBAGF0040BGY).

ACT NOW and get some help.

EraseUS is that the company that makes the software I often use for recovery operations. They are offering a free Pro License to anyone who has been caught up in this SanDisk/WD mess.

How to get the free EaseUS license?

Just email redemption@easeus.com with the title of SanDisk Extreme SSD Data Recovery Help Needed. And offer the following information to make we better know this event and offer more accurate help:

  1. Your SSD type;

  2. The time you bought the SSD

  3. The problem your SanDisk SSD caused to you

  4. Your OS- Mac or Windows – this will decide the license key version, Windows or Mac version

If your drives are affected, I'd suggest you to do this:

1.    Back up all data from those drives immediately to another location. The drive will probably fail soon if it has not done so already.

2.    Talk to SanDisk support to get a warranty replacement or follow their instructions to update the drive's firmware (PC users only.)

3.    Get over to EraseUS asap to get the tool you need for recovery.
