MEXICO Trip Images – III
/One our last day, Kathy and Mike treated everyone to a one-of-a-kind hole-in-wall blanket store. Unlike a simple store front, walking through a small door-less opening on the side wall, was like a step back in time. Around the concrete and dust laden floor, were several wooden looms of all sizes and shape. There was no doubt in my mind that many of these looms were far older than I was. As I walked around the area taking some photos, a young man came out of nowhere and starting using one of the looms – what a show. All of the light in the loom area was natural light from the windows – than goodness for the low noise of the Nikon D3s when used in the higher ISOs. I used a slow shutter speed to capture the speed at which he was working the loom on a couple for the shots below. To convey the timelessness that I felt while shooting in the loom area, I processed these images as black and white. Enjoy the images below:
