After an early rise for breakfast, we left Legacy Lodge in Arusha and took a bush flight to Ndutu, in the southern Serengeti.
On our way to camp we had a wonderful experience: we saw elephants, cheetahs, and tons of wildebeest – it was a special start to our first day on safari.
After lunch I decided to take our group to observe the Great Migration. The southern Serengeti – and Ndutu, especially – is the perfect place to experience the calving season. There were newborn calves all around us; it was an amazing sight!
Watching a mother cheetah interact with her immature cub rounded out the afternoon. We hope to photograph the Marsh lion pride tomorrow.
